Brigantia is the first single malt whisky from Lake Constance. The name "Brigantia" was chosen in reference to the Roman scholar Pliny the Elder, who mentioned the upper part of Lake Constance (today's Upper Lake) in his records as Lacus Brigantius in about 70 AD. After careful distillation on the Steinhauser distillery of 1890, this whisky matures for more than three years in oak casks and then receives a finish in Spanish sherry casks to preserve its complex-ripe-fruity aromas.
