Brigantia is the first single malt whisky from Lake Constance. The name "Brigantia" was chosen in reference to the Roman scholar Pliny the Elder, who around 70 AD mentioned the upper part of Lake Constance (today's Upper Lake) in his records as Lacus Brigantius. After careful distillation on the Steinhauser distillery plant of 1890, this limited whisky matures for more than three years in oak barrels.
