The Speyside distillery was officially founded in 1976 by George Christie. After that, the distillery changed hands a few times, when Harveys of Edinburgh took over the distillery, he changed the name of its single malts to "Spey". In 2014, the new "Spey" series was released, which includes the Spey 12 Years Old Limited Edition. This single malt is aged for 12 years in bourbon casks and receives its finish in oak casks.
