The Scheiblhofer winery is a family business and cultivates a total vineyard area of 30 hectares. All the grapes are processed on the estate's own premises and marketed exclusively in bottles. The winery is not only very well known for its Prädikatsweine, but also for its top red wines "Big John". Johann Scheiblhofer achieved more than 300 gold medals at nationwide awards, thus achieving the most awards nationwide. Awards: - Big John was salon winner in 2014 with vintage 2012. Tasting notes:Dense purple with ruby reflections in the glass. The nose is fruity and complex with hints of caramel. The palate is complex, fruity with well-integrated tannins. Long lasting on the finish. Grape varieties: Zweigelt, Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinot Noir. Aging: 12 months in new American barriques. Drinking temperature: 16 °C. Residual sugar: 2,6 g/l. Acidity: 4,4 g/l. Storage potential: Until 2029. The red wine is excellent with dark meat, game dishes and strong sauces.
