The Ballykeefe Distillery has been a family business for many years and is run by the Ging family. It took 25 years of research to build a distillery that does justice to Irish whiskey and supports both the environment and sustainability with all its processes. The Irish brandy Poitín is firmly anchored in the country's history. Between 1661 and 1997 it was forbidden to produce this spirit. The aim of Ballykeefe Poitín is to pass on this rebellious heritage and put it into a bottle. This Poitín is made in 7 steps, over 7 days. The triple distillation is done in Italian Copper Pot Stills.Tasting notes:Colour: Clear. Nose: Light aromas, fruity, notes of wines from the Rhine Valley. Taste: Warm, chewy, red peppers, biscuits, oak. Finish: Long lasting, rich, sherry. Try this Poitín with ice and a thin slice of orange.
